    Solid state relay (SSR) is an advanced industrial control device that uses power semiconductor components as the main control component.  Compared with traditional magnetic contact industrial controllers, SSR has higher power, intelligence, digitalization, systematization and environmental protection development.
    SSR has two switching modes: zero-crossing type and random type.  The random type turns on immediately when receiving the input control signal, while the zero-crossing type requires the load voltage to reach the zero area before turning on.  Both types can shut down when the current drops below maintenance levels.  The zero-crossing type may cause maximum half-cycle delay, but reduces load effects and RF interference, making it an ideal switching device.  Random types provide fast response and are suitable for dimmers, thermostats, resistive loads and some inductive load applications.
    When turning off the SSR, the triac may experience a large rate of rise (dv/dt) if the phase currents and voltages are different.  If dv/dt exceeds the triac's standard (300V/us), it may cause delayed shutdown or failure.  Using powerful SSR with anti-parallel thyristors can greatly increase dv/dt (up to 500V/us).  Therefore, for capacitive or inductive loads, it is recommended to use powerful SSR. For example, Zenli's SSR are all powerful types.
    A solid-state voltage regulator includes a thyristor switching circuit, a resistor-capacitor phase shift circuit, a hysteresis circuit and an overvoltage absorption circuit.  Only an external potentiometer is needed to achieve AC power regulation and replace high contact voltage lighting supplies in many applications, allowing analog regulation of voltage, temperature, brightness, speed, and more.
